Name: 'Little One' (she 'canonically' has no name but Little One works for lists and such.)
Canon: OC
Canon Point: Just after learning she is to go to the temple.
OU/AU/CRAU/OC: OC
Age: 11

World Information:

The world is one with many countries and cultures as vast and different as our own and a very low technology level. Medieval is a good way to set the tone and feel of the world, though of course historically that is inaccurate as it is not our world at all.

It is a world locked in a never ending war of good and evil, a war started by gods and continued by humans. To the ordinary person that is the end of it, you either follow the teachings of the gods of light or you follow the god of darkness. To them it is simple and life is indeed simple for many who live in the world, farmers, fisher-people, sailors, travelling merchants taking advantage of the relatively recent rise in large sailing ships. Some countries are wealthier than others, some have large towns and sprawling cities, some parts of the world are remote and rural. Monster prowl the world, gathering at the far edges of civilisation but sometimes venturing into towns and even some cities.

But no matter the country, living a good life being kind to those around you, working hard and resisting those who try to tempt you is sufficient to follow the bright gods. To those in the shadows life is harder. The need to remain secret while finding those who share your beliefs, small pockets of darkness most often involved in petty crime. Secret shadowy organisations infiltrating the leaders of the lands, or bands of bandits. All have the same aim; to spread chaos and fear. To pave the way for the shadow lord.

Of course things are a little more complicated, because the gods have, since the beginning of time granted their powers to those they govern. All living creatures in the world have innate power. That power sits inside of them and for most people that is the end of it. But some have the ability to use that power, to shape it and use it. Power that is used is magic. Everyone has power, only the gifted have magic.

Generally speaking only humans have magic, of course there are exceptions. Every so often you hear tales such as cats that can shoot fire from their eyes destroying whole villages. But such happenings are rare and magic is generally considered to be a human trait.

There is no rhyme or reason as to which humans manifest magic, children of nobles or orphan street children. The magic tends to manifest around the age of ten though it can be detected by other magic users much sooner. It can be dangerous if those who manifest magic are not found and trained. Though some are trained personally by other magic users most are sent to a temple in the mountains; the only one of its kind and home to all magic users and those that serve them.

Once trained these magic users are Priests and Priestesses, sworn to serve one of the gods of light. Each god encourages different specialities in those that serve them.

Of course there are also priests who follow the shadow god, they live among the others; often pretending to be servants of one of the five bright gods. They seek to spread chaos and pave the way for the shadow god to consume all.

But Priests and Priestesses are not the only ones to whom the Temple is home. A school of warriors, from all around the world live there. Their duty and calling is to protect those with magic, lending the inherent power that lies within them to serve their Priests. Though there are other places where fighters can be trained this is the most diverse, accepting people with no training; where sons of kings train next to peasant children and all are forged into the greatest warriors of all time. Seeking no honour for themselves but only that the Priests can fulfil their destinies.

As mentioned before their are many countries, the temple is apart from all of them; those that train there priest or warrior give up their nationality and previous ties and swear to serve the world as a whole.

The country Little One grew up in is called Gauig. It is a warm, dry and dusty place, mostly desert home to nomads and the odd small town. However on the coast there is the capital city, also called Gauig. A huge sprawling city, home to the queen and all the nobles of the land but with a sprawling underbelly of corruption and poverty. Here they speak with a thick dialect, the grammar of their words switched about. It is an easy place to get lost in, an easier place to be disappeared in. The sprawling docklands mean there are a constant influx of strangers with ships constantly coming and going.

Gauig is a country wrecked with war with its neighbours, petty land squabbles that swell every so often. War rarely reaches the capitol and never did in Nesir’s time there. The main exports of Gauig come from the city itself by sea and are honey and the mead made from it. They have a heavy diet of fish in the city and a strong belief that honey goes with everything.

Religion

Just some notes on the religion of Little One’s world as it is so fundamental to her character.

The pantheon consists of six gods though only five are accepted. Those five are known as the Bright Gods and an average person will worship all five almost as one, praying to the Healer when their child is sick, the Defender to save their sheep from wolves, the Scholar for help in knowing when the perfect time to harvest their crop.

In the temple a priest of priestess will specialise in one of the gods, focusing on that area:

The Healer: Healing looking after the sick, using magic to help the injured in battles and every day life. Many go out into the world to provide care to those that need it.
The Scholar : Knowledge Most those that serve the god of knowledge remain in the mountains teaching those that come to learn, some also go out into the world.
The Judge: Justice They try and bring light to the world, either by settling village disputes or advising Queens, or vigilante crime fighting.
The Explorer: Discovery They deal with all things powerful and magic, be it taking down those cats with fire spouting eyes, finding old items containing power or searching for children capable of magic and ensuring they get trained.
The Defender: War The most martial, for they are completely preoccupied with the fight against the shadow god. They aim to bring peace to the world by fighting evil everywhere they see it, going out to hunt down those that follow the shadow god and wipe out all evil from the world.

Then obviously there is the shadow god, the god of chaos. Those that serve the shadow god seek to tip the balance of the world into darkness, bringing about strife and war. They work in secret and it is not unusual to have learned that there was a follower of the shadow god behind most of the wars and divisions in history.

This world is not one where gods walk among humans. Their ‘creation’ story is that the gods found the world. They gave the world power, granted its creatures sentience, gave humans speech and bestowed magic on a chosen few. Humans serve gods and it is hoped that in service and prayers the gods will smile on them and make life easier for them.

‘Priest’ and ‘Priestess’ are words reserved for magic users. Specifically those trained by the Temple though those who are trained elsewhere may use those titles if they are dedicating themselves to the gods. There are of course religious leaders who are not blessed with magic. Those that teach and have a role in their community. They are called ‘Bard’s’.

People pray at alters, traditionally left open to the sky though in some of the colder regions they have walls to protect worshippers from the elements. Bigger cities may have a temple where you can find alters to all five of the Bright Gods. Prayers are ritualistic and passed down through generations. Community and family is considered important and cherished among all and there is a theme that the Bright Gods work together to hold off the dark and so too should the humans who worship them.

Festivals and holy days are connected to the seasons with the largest two being midsummer and midwinter. Midsummer is day of celebration and midwinter is a day of remembrance and hope. A vigil in the dark until the sun rises once more.

For those who worship the Shadow God worship is in secret. Many will give ‘false’ worship to the Bright Gods out of necessity. Alters tend to be inside, in the dark, in caves. Places hidden from the light. Teachings focus on the importance of tipping the balance, sewing distrust into communities and stopping at nothing to reach their goal. Those dedicated to the shadow pledge their souls to the shadow god, shackling their fate to that of their god.

There is a belief in reincarnation, the idea that souls are reborn in the light (or dark) to continue the fight, even if souls do not remember anything of their time before the gods do. Those who are particularly lucky or successful are considered to have done something great in their past lives and now have the blessings of the gods. Bodies of the dead are burned to release their souls as quickly as possible, their ashes released at an alter. Failure to do so within a few days of death dooms the soul to end it’s reincarnation cycle and be trapped between life and death.

Any old storyteller in Little One’s world will have at least one scary story of a lost soul, a soul who could not escape their worldly body fast enough and was doomed to wander the world forever, wreaking misfortune, leading travellers astray, snatching children from their cradles to keep them company in their eternal torment. Temple Warriors do not believe such foolish folk tales of course.

Those of the temple vow to take up arms and defend their god, making a sacred oath when they leave the ranks of learners to be a Priest or Priestess. The Temple teaches all five gods though priests and priestess’ will usually have picked a path by the time they are an acolyte. Warriors usually dedicate themselves to the god of their priest, vowing to protect and serve both with their lives.

Personal History:

As often is the case Little One’s story does not start with her. Instead it starts with a woman named Elena. A shadow serving priestess of great power Elena had quickly risen through the ranks, both at the temple and the shadow cell there.

She, like most who served the shadow god had been brought up by light god followers. In general it is assumed that everyone in the world is born good, if they grow up in a good family with strong values they will remain good and work for benefit of others. There were exceptions of course but as a rule the way shadow cells worked was to pull those on the edges of society, those that had lost everything, those searching for something more, those whose greed led them to the search for higher power.

They were found by those who served the shadow god and drawn to their side, with promises of greatness. But as they found anyone drawn away from the light, could be coaxed back. The powers of good were so much greater than the evil after all. Those that sought power often were not those that worked well with others.

So she wondered, if a child was brought up in darkness, serving the shadow from the beginning, loyal to their cause, not having to be constantly promised greatness. If such a child could be raised would they stay loyal?

The idea was interesting enough that she was permitted to experiment and so sent her Warrior, Kant to father a child, he returned with two. Identical twin girls.

Child rearing was not something Elena was at all interested in and so she handed the girls over to a shadow cell in the city of Gauig, chosen for it’s sprawling nature, the ever changing population and the lack of citizens prepared to ask difficult questions. Their instructions were simple, raise them to follow the shadow god, feed them, clothe them, give them the skills they needed.

So Little One's life began. When she was ready to go out to the world she had to be untraceable. Humans are humans and make mistakes and mistakes were costly when made by a shadow servant. Nameless children weren’t all that uncommon in Gauig, thief gang children abounded and many went by nicknames if anything at all.

From an early age the girls lived double lives. In the daytime their mornings and evenings were taken up serving customers in the inn, scrubbing dishes, doing whatever jobs were given to them. It would have been easy work if the tavern had been a friendly clean place. However the Apple's Heart in Gauig was the sort of place light fearing men avoided. The inside was a dank dark place, with shadowy corners where drunken men gambled their lives away, where thieves met and plotted.

The afternoons were the girls time to do what they wished, the inn was quiet, before people arrived for the evening, and the keepers would rather the girls were out from under foot. So in the afternoons the girls played in the city, joining the street children and thieves. They were soon prized among the children as the two girls proved to be good thieves, quick and good at hiding. Such activities were permitted and encouraged by their guardians, after all they were useful skills.

Though they ran with the street children they never really were part of them. Taught from an early age to trust nobody and having many secrets to keep both children were quiet, task focused and had an air of superiority. Perhaps if they were only one of them they would have integrated more but they had each other for company and found little use in anyone else.

Once the inn began to quiet, in the early hours of the morning the children were woken from their sleep for their lessons; some lessons were the same as any other children of traders and innkeepers. Reading, writing, how to count and reason. Others not so common; how to walk silently, move in shadows, how to fight and how to kill.

When the girls were deemed old enough to understand they made their pledge to the shadow god, becoming servants of the shadow officially. They knew it was something to be kept secret and rarely even spoke about it among themselves. They knew that those of the light would kill them just for who they served. That one wrong word to the wrong person could cause endless trouble. As they grew Elena and Kant were regular visitors and added to their training as they got older. By the time the girls were eleven they were sent on their first missions.

Little One found the tasks given to her exciting, each one a little bit more risky, the fear of being caught igniting the adrenaline inside her. She didn't mind killing, after all it got her praise. She knew she was serving the shadow god and above all it was fun. She had spent her life learning how to and it was good to put those skills to good use.

Her sister though did not take to such things as well. She had always felt things deeply and one day things seemed to have changed. She had been on a mission and Little One wasn't sure if her sister had met someone who had put ideas in her head or if she had come to the conclusion herself but one night Little One walked in on her crying in the small room they shared. She confessed that she thought the shadow god was wrong and made Little One promise to never tell a soul.

Little One was horrified, she knew she should report this. It was disobedience and blasphemy but it was her sister, her best friend, someone she would do anything for. She promised to never tell a soul but her promise never even had to be tested for a few days later she was summoned by Tawin; one of the innkeepers.

She never learned fully what happened but her sister had failed. Been deemed a failure and a danger to them all. Their guardians; worried that the taint had spread they ordered Little One to kill her sister to prove her loyalty to the shadow god.

Of course Little One did so; she loved her sister more than she loved anything but obedience had been drilled into her and if her sister was truly a danger... She didn't expect the sadness though; unlike the satisfaction that usually came when she completed a mission she was hit with loss and grief.

Left to her own devices for a few days but barred from leaving the inn Little One worried, had they decided she was to be killed as well? Did they not want her any more? When she was finally summoned it was Elena she faced. The priestess informed her that she was being sent to a far off temple; a place where she would train to be a warrior like Kant. To serve a magic user when she became strong enough. There was a large faction of shadow servants there and they would continue Little One's training. In a rare moment of empathy Elena instructed her to speak with Kant, who took it upon himself to make her warm milk and honey and answered some of her questions. It is just after that talk that she is taken from.

Personality:

The most important thing to know about Little One is that she is knows how important it is to be what people expect you to be. She is good at wearing different masks, even if she doesn't really understand that is what she is doing. She knows that her guardians expect her to be well behaved, obedient and polite and what behaviour will earn her praise (and honeycakes). She knows she gets more respect from the street thief children she runs with if she is fearless, reckless and care free. Outside of her immediate household she is seen as a half wild urchin child, typical for one brought up by unsavoury innkeepers.

She works hard at everything she is given to do, be it washing dishes or assisting in the assassination of a minor noble of the city. When she is on missions she is silent, stealthy. She is well trained and knows how to kill and kill efficiently. Though she has only started to go on solo missions and still has a lot of briefing before hand she hasn't got anywhere close to being caught.

Little One is good at hiding what she is feeling. She speaks in the thick accent/dialect of her city which gets thicker if she is angry. She is very good at dismissing any questions about herself, her sister or their home life. She uses her smaller than average size and her young age to her advantage, as people don't suspect her.

Underneath all her masks lies her true personality and truthfully it is a mix of all the facets she shows to others.

Her soul is pledged to the shadow god, the god of chaos and it is a vow she takes very seriously. She attempts to spread chaos and darkness with everything she does be it is a mission or robbing a market stall holder.

She genuinely enjoys her reputation among the petty thieves of her city. Though she would never call them friends she does not begrudge their company as long as they give her the respect she feels she deserves, respect she is willing to fight for.

She is a cheeky, sometimes angry child who would never dare back chat her guardians but is less likely to hold her tongue around adults that she does not respect or fear. Adults in general tend to be either fools (good for thieving off) or risks (to be avoided and mitigated). Her trust is hard to win but her obedience can be bought for the right price (spoiler the price is anything sweet).

In many ways Little One seems a lot older than her age. She is hardened by her upbringing, able to do things most children and indeed many adults would baulk at. Indeed she counts herself as more mature than the other children she sees in her city. In other ways she is incredibly young, many typical child-like things have been denied her, her understanding of interpersonal relationships is very low, she struggles to problem solve if the answer isn't 'obey it' or 'stab it'. She works well with clear instructions and orders but struggles when she has to make choices or decisions alone. Things that don't fit her very narrow world view are often dismissed as 'stupid' and not worth knowing about. The world is met with a wary nose wrinkle and quick judgement.

She is, for perhaps the first time, dealing with the real consequences of what she does. She does not have the words, feelings or energy to deal with the fact her sister is gone. She genuinely loved her sister. Out of all of Little One's relationships this one is probably the closest to 'real' that she had. One that is not fuelled by fear or trained obedience. Her sister was her best friend, her rival sometimes but her enemy never. The one person she could count on as an ally even if the rest of the world was against them.

That she is dead by Little One's own hand is something Little One has not even began to process yet. Little One was obedient, did her duty to the shadow god. Those are things that are meant to bring her praise and reward, not pain and sorrow. If she were to continue in her story she would never speak of it, never forgetting but never actually dealing with what she had done. She has been taught that showing fear or pain is weakness and weakness is not something she can afford, she will hide most of what she feels.

Because shadow agents aren't taught healthy coping mechanics. Little One can enter a meditative state called the emptiness. This is normal in her world, and there is nothing magical about it. It is merely a mindset where you close yourself off from the world, helping you to fight, bare pain or think clearly. The way you reach it differs between people and says a lot about their personality. For this girl she imagines a storm sucking everything into it and devouring it all. All the bad, the good, everything around her; every part of her life before it finally devours itself leaving her in calmness. It is used by Warriors primarily during battle. Little One retreats into it whenever she feels threatened, whenever her world view is questioned, whenever who she is hurts.

The girl is quite well educated. She has had lessons in history, in the monsters of the world, in politics of major cities and geography but it is very disconnected from the life she knows. She has never left her city, she has little practical knowledge of the world outside her immediate neighbourhood.

She is proud of her learning. She is quick to dismiss anything she doesn't understand as stupid and not worth knowing about. This can make her come across as a little brat sometimes, and if you get that impression from her then you aren't completely wrong.

Key themes:

‘Good’ vs ‘Evil’ and what it means to be the extreme of either. Duty and loyalty to a cause vs love and personal loyalty. What it means when your ‘purpose’ is dictated from birth.

Main Motivation:

Her biggest motivation is being obedient to the shadow god and to her guardians. This has proven greater than even the love she felt towards her sister.

Skills:

~ Like everyone in her world she has “innate power”. She does not however have any ability to channel that power into magic and so it lies dormant unless drawn from her by a priest or priestess of her world.

~ She is trained in stealth, indirect killing and torture.

~ She is not great in a fair fight, she can street brawl with the best of them but she would be no match for an adult or older, stronger kid with a weapon. She will have a decent chance against someone her own age or someone who is unused to fighting.

~ She is as decently strong as any eleven year old girl who spends a lot of time scrambling around on rooftops. She is a good climber and is used to running around, often on very little sleep.

~ She's moderately intelligent, well educated (though she comes from an equivalent of about the 15th century tech level wise)

~ She's a decent spy, she can at least memorize details and report back to someone even if she hasn't quite got to the stage of connecting the dots (though if it is in a context she is used to she can usually work things out as well).

~ The emptiness is not magical but it is a meditative state. When she enters it her reaction time is faster, her mind clearer, and pain/emotional stress don't reach her. However she is young and the skill is new. She cannot keep it up for long and will lose it if in a lot of pain, or if she gets too angry.

Item:

A stiletto blade, given to her from Kant on her last birthday.

Sample:

Being a brat | more things | Causing trouble | much trouble

This is obviously mod!katy. As I am solo-modding the game I have asked Elle ([plurk.com profile] evildoers) to look over and judge this application.

[OOC]

1). Backtagging: Yes! My time zone is GMT backtagging is my life!
2). Threadhopping: Yes, just make sure the other person is okay with it too.
3). Fourthwalling: Not really but if it is a thing your character does come chat to me, it might be okay!
4). Canon puncture: It's okay but she's an OC so there's not really anything to puncture
5). Offensive subjects (elaborate): I am generally fine with anything that will come up via dwrp characters, if there is anything I am concerned about I will come and talk to you.

[IC]

1). Hugging this character: Do you want stabbed? She will not reciprocate and will be confused.
2). Kissing this character: No. She is eleven.
3). Flirting with this character: Again she's eleven. However if your character is also a young teen/preteen and wants to try their hand at flirting... stabbing might be in their future!
4). Fighting with this character: Yes!
5). Injuring this character (include limits and severity): Yup is all fine- if you ever are unsure just come chat to me!
6). Killing this character: Come chat to me, in general though if it makes sense and there's no way she can get out of a situation I am fine with it.
7). Using telepathy/mind reading abilities on this character: Sure! She is very easy to mind read.

[Warnings for you!]

Dialect She do be speaking in the dialect of her city, which I do be realising that it can be being a little annoying for some people. So here do be a permission post for you.

Pretty much the dialect of Gauig uses "do be" as an auxiliary and then the infinitive of the verb. At this age she doesn't know any other way to speak unless she is taught but if you would like me to drop the accent and we can just handwave she's still speaking in it I can do! Just let me know a list of your characters so I know.

Character Information
Name: She doesn't have a name IC yet. I am happy for this to be dealt with however you like. "Little One" is her favourite out of the names her various guardians call her so that could be used for lists etc. Or if you need a 'real' name for her- the name she uses when she is older is Nesir Aeser (but that name will mean absolutely nothing to her IC). In a previous game she was assigned a name on arrival but that doesn't really seem like it would fit here (I am unsure of the storytellers opinions on how nameful their storywalkers should be).
Appearance: This is her. Her eyes are dark but have a green tint to them. She is short for her age.
Age: 11
Canon Point: At eleven years of age, a few months after she begins going on missions.
Canon History: The world that this girl comes from is as large as earth with cultures as vast and different as our own. This child is from Gauig, which is warm, dry and dusty. It is a country that seems to be constantly at war with it's neighbours. Mostly in the form of petty land squabbles that swelled every so often to full on border disputes. The capital where Nesir grew up is on the coast; they have a heavy fish diet and are the largest producers of honey. They are known for their ales and meads. They are ruled by a Queen and inheritance is the choice of the current ruler; the throne sometimes going to distant cousins if the rulers children are not deemed worthy. They have a heavy dialect, which means that foreigners tend to be very noticeable. Though it is a port town most of the trade and commerce that comes with such is restricted to the port areas.

Character History: In general it is assumed that everyone in the world is born good, if they grow up in a good family with strong values they will remain good and work for benefit of others.

It doesn't always work that way, sometimes people go bad. They begin to serve the shadow lord; humans and humans they are easily corrupted. But as the ranks of the shadow found often; that which could be corrupted could be redeemed. However much you tried someone who grew up believing a way of life to be correct will struggle to adapt to a new one.

These were the findings of a small group of shadow priests one of whom was an ambitious woman called Elena. If their main issue with finding new agents of the shadow to remain loyal to them was that the light always pulled them, then surely the solution was to bring a child up believing that the shadow was correct.

So she sent her warrior Kant to father a child; he came back with two and she handed them over to a small band of shadow agents; at an inn in the capital city of Gauig to raise in the darkness.

The girls were not given names. When they was ready to go out to the world they had to be untraceable. Humans are humans and make mistakes and mistakes were costly when made by a shadow servant. So a name would be given later, when it was her only name; traceable only to the person she was meant to be.

From an early age the girls lived double lives. In the daytime their mornings and evenings were taken up serving customers in the inn, scrubbing dishes, doing whatever jobs were given to them. It would have been easy work if the tavern had been a friendly clean place. However the Apple's Heart in Gauig was the sort of place gods fearing men avoided. The inside was a dank dark place, with shadowy corners where drunken men gambled their lives away, where thieves met and plotted.

The afternoons were the girls time to do what they wished, the inn was quiet, before people arrived for the evening, and the keepers would rather the girls were out from under foot. So in the afternoons the girls played in the city, they were friends with the street children and thieves. They were soon prized among the children as the two girls proved to be good thieves, quick and good at hiding. Such activities were permitted and encouraged by their guardians, after all they were useful skills.

By the time the girls were eleven they were sent on their first missions.

This girl found the tasks given to her exciting, each one a little bit more risky, the fear of being caught igniting the adrenaline inside her. She didn't mind killing, after all it got her praise. She knew she was serving the shadow god and above all it was fun. She had spent her life learning how to and it was good to put those skills to good use.

Personality: The girl knows that while she is outside of the inn she has to keep herself secret. And she has began to learn how to put up different facades to different people.

To all those outside of her immediate household she is a half wild urchin kid, taken in by the innkeepers of a mostly unsavory inn and therefore as badly behaved as you would expect. She lives up to their expectations, running with street kids, stealing from local store holders. Though she has calmed a bit, as her group is growing up and filtered into employment (or professional thieving). Her guardians keep her inside more often, as is right now she is older and she is expected to work through the day in the inn. She is polite when trying to talk her way out of trouble, but back chats when she feels she is in no danger.

During the times she is with the other kids her and her sister have a reputation for being fearless. The bravest of them all, always volunteering for the most risky heists. Laughing in the face of danger, their quick hands, quicker tongues and care for nothing attitude wins them respect.

When she is with her guardians she is the very model of an obedient assassin. She is proud of the work she is given, listens intently in lessons. Gone is the wild carefree child of the streets, replaced with a cold, obedient killer.

She works hard at everything she is given to do, be it washing dishes or assassinating a minor noble of the city.

When she is on missions she is silent, stealthy. She is well trained and knows how to kill and kill efficiently. Though she has only started to go on solo missions and still has a lot of briefing before it she hasn't got anywhere close to being caught.

She is used to wearing masks and hiding what she is feeling.

She loves her sister. Outside of the shadow god himself her sister is her biggest motivation. Her best friend, her rival for attention and jobs, her quieter, less confident but often braver sister. Though by the time they are eleven they are aware that their love for each other could be used against them they still care for each other dearly. This child will do anything for her sister, she is the one person she truly cares for.

Because of her unconventional upbringing this child took longer than most to work out connections between people. Growing up without a name she assumed they weren't important and so it wasn't until she was about seven that she started referring to or calling others by their names. She has very little ideas of family structure, only what she has observed. Though she has a group outside the inn she spends time with them she wouldn't call them friends, she won their respect and they are useful. Friends are a mostly alien concept and involves more trust than she can afford to give.

She has been taught that showing fear or pain is weakness and weakness is not something she can afford either, she will hide most of what she feels and though she has a very shaky grasp on the emptiness still she hides in it whenever she is scared.

In a world where good and evil have battle lines and rules and are starkly contrasted to one another it is hard for those who are powerful and firm in their righteousness to see the smudgey areas where the line blurs. But this child has been thinking. At this time have not formulated those thoughts into any firm ideas yet but the spark is there.

After all she was brought up evil, but she runs the streets with pick pockets who burned sacrifices to the gods of light. Stealing is considered an evil action but if your motives were good then you could still be a follower of the light gods.

Murder is a much bigger crime in the eyes of those gods yet she knows that those of the light kill, in self defence and to bring the world to light. She knows if she was ever caught and found out as an agent of the shadow god she would be killed, even though she is a child.

But what does she fight for if not the defense of her, her sister and the others who serve darkness and to bring shadow over the world?

The tiny assassin hasn't met many people outside of her small part of the city but these are beliefs that will only grow as she meets more, especially more self proclaimed heroes and good people.

Abilities:

Like everyone in her world she has innate power. She does not however have any ability to channel that power into magic and so it lies dormant unless drawn from her by a priest or priestess of her world.

She is a skilled assassin and trained in stealth and torture. She is not great in a fair fight, she can street brawl with the best of them but she would be no match for an adult or older, stronger kid with a weapon. She will have a decent chance against someone her own age or someone who is unused to fighting.

She is as decently strong as any eleven year old girl who spends a lot of time scrambling around on rooftops. She is a good climber and is used to running around, often on very little sleep.

She's moderately intelligent, well educated (though she comes from an equivalent of about the 15th century tech level wise)

She's also a decent spy, she can at least memorize details and report back to someone even if she hasn't quite got to the stage of connecting the dots (though if it is in a context she is used to she can usually work things out as well)

Even though the emptiness is not magical it's worth a mention because when she goes into this meditative state her reaction time is faster, her mind clearer, and pain/emotional stress don't effect her (though at this age she cannot keep it for long and will lose it if in a lot of pain, or if she gets too angry)

"We will be leaving tomorrow afternoon." Priestess Elina finished, "You will be given a cover story and the journey to the mountains to perfect it. I will send over some suitable clothing for you to wear. Do you understand?"

The girl nodded, though the amount of information she had just been given was a lot. "Yes priestess Elina." Her voice was cracked from disuse and her throat sore and dry. It was a lot to take in, she was to leave Gauig tomorrow. She had never left the city before and she was to go to the temple where Elina and Kant lived. There she would learn to be a warrior. All that information was bouncing at her trying to get through the numb shock of what had happened.

She saw Elina give Kant a look, the kind of look that the girl knew had unspoken orders in it, though she couldn't say what they were. "Kant will be able to answer any questions about the temple."

"Yes priestess." Whereas most of her guardians accepted nods or silent obedience the priestess always required words, as did Kant and it had always been a hard thing for the girl to remember.

Elina left the room, silently. The girl was jealous of that, she could move silently herself but not in that many layers of dress with necklaces and hair ornaments. She was left alone with Kant who stared at her with an unreadable expression. The girl half expected him to leave but he surprised her. "Follow me, little one."

She did so, half wondering and half fearing where he was taking her. It was to the kitchens though and she frowned, wondering why. He lifted her up, taking her by surprise and swung her up to one of the big wooden tables next to the stove like she was a much smaller child and not nearly twelve. "You're hungry, you haven't eaten in days." He said it as a fact, not asking her opinion. Even though she wasn't hungry and her stomach recoiled at the thought of food.

She watched as he gathered milk and honey and put it on the fire. She had seen Kant do a lot of things over the years, from quiet knife work to loud fighting to looking after a sick horse but now stood stirring milk and honey for a heartsick assassin brat he looked ridiculous.

The girl studied him, she knew he would be aware of her scrutiny, he had been the one who taught her to see so much after all. He seemed engrossed in his task but his look was dark. He was angry and the girl didn't know if that anger was towards her. Surely if it was he wouldn't be making her milk and honey. He had a fading bruise on his cheekbone, the girl wondered who could of even hit him, he was the quickest, smartest fighter she knew. She also wondered why Elina hadn't healed it, had he made her mad?

Soon he was pressing a mug of steaming milk and honey into her hands. "Eat it all, little one."

She didn't want to but he was wearing his no arguments look and she took a sip. It tasted funny in her mouth and she forced herself to swallow it. He nodded, still stern and leaned against the counter. "All of it." He reminded her and his tone made her want to stick her tongue out at him. But that was a baby thing to do and whereas she might have gotten away with it as a baby she wouldn't now and she feared to even put her littlest toe out of line.

They sat and leaned in silence for a long while the only sound being when Kant gently reminded her to drink when she forgot for too long. The girl had felt like words were a really long way away from her the last few days and probably if Kant had asked her questions or tried to speak she would have stayed quiet but the silence drove on and eventually she spoke, her voice hoarse.

"Do they be having honey in the mountains?" It was a silly question, not one of the big scary questions she wanted to ask.

"Sometimes." Kant didn't act like her question was stupid. "They have to import it though, so it's quite expensive." He looked at her kindly, "It's not the sort of thing trainees are given to eat, it's a luxury."

It took a while for the girl to get her head around that, honey being a luxury. It was a staple of her diet.

"What do they be eating then?"

Kant explained about the food in the mountains, it sounded a mix of bland and boring or totally strange and bizarre. She wrinkled her nose and he chuckled.

"You'll be fine little one." He looked at her with serious eyes, "You're tough, you've proven that." She looked down, suddenly interested in the congealing honey at the bottom of her mug.

"Sometimes." He coughed, but it was not a real cough, "Sometimes even when you have a duty and a calling it can be hard to see clearly. Sometimes you do things and you cannot be sure they are the right things to do. You can only trust in the dark god, who knows all and those who give your orders, who see a bigger picture." He ruffled her hair and the girl looked at him sadly, knowing that he wasn't talking about going to the temple and living without honey.

Character: She doesn't have a name ICly at this canon point. I am happy any way that you would like to deal with this, in another game the mods (and therefore those in charge of the world ICly) came up with a name for her. Obviously this doesn't really fit the premise of DH so I am happy for her to remain nameless ICly. OOC wise her name when she is older is Nesir Aeser so that could be used for lists and stuffs if she gets in if you want!

Age: 11

World Information: Nesir's world is as large as earth with cultures as vast and different as our own. It is a world locked in a never ending war of good and evil, a war started by gods and continued by humans. To the ordinary person that is the end of it, you either follow the teachings of the gods of light or you follow the god of darkness. To them it is simple, living a good life being kind to those around you, working hard and resisting those who try to tempt you is sufficient to follow the bright gods. To those in the shadows its a bit harder, remaining secret while finding those who share your beliefs, small pockets of darkness most often involved in petty crime.

All living creatures in the world have power, power to be tapped into and used but for most of them it is locked away. They have no way to channel it. That is the difference between power and magic.

The magic tends to manifest around the age of fourteen and can be dangerous if they are not found and trained. Though some are trained personally by other magic users most are sent to a temple in the mountains; the only one of its kind and home to all magic users and those that serve them.

Once trained these magic users are priests and priestesses, sworn to serve one of the gods of light. Each god encourages different specialties in those that serve them.

These are:

Healing: looking after the sick, using magic to help the injured in battles and every day life. Many go out into the world to provide care to those that need it.
Knowledge: Most those that serve the god of knowledge remain in the mountains teaching those that come to learn, some also go out into the world.
Justice: They try and bring light to the world, either by settling village disputes or advising Queens, or vigilante crime fighting.
Discovery: They deal with all things powerful and magic, be it taking down those cats with fire spouting eyes, finding old items containing power or searching for children capable of magic and ensuring they get trained.
War: The most martial, for they are completely preoccupied with the fight against the shadow god. They aim to bring peace to the world by fighting evil everywhere they see it, going out to hunt down those that follow the shadow god and wipe out all evil from the world.

Seeking no honour for themselves but only that the priests can fulfill their destinies.

As mentioned before their are many countries in Nesir's world, the temple is apart from all of them; those that train there priest or warrior give up their nationality and swear to serve the world as a whole. Gauig is warm, dry and dusty. The capital being known for it's ales and meads. A country wracked with war with its neighbours, petty land squabbles that swelled every so often. The capital where Nesir grew up is on the coast; they have a heavy fish diet and are the largest producers of honey. They are ruled by a Queen and inheritance is the choice of the current ruler; the throne sometimes going to distant cousins if the rulers children are not deemed worthy.

Adel-Makim-Zalur (tribute- dead) The first alien Pruna ever met. She was a bit like a horse and bit like a person and could only eat grass. She had eyes that could twirl around and Pruna thought they were very useful. She also claimed she didn't want to kill.

Pruna thought she was a weird monster but it turned out she wasn't a monster but an andalite from a planet far away. Adel explained about stars and space and places with multiple suns and it was all very confusing. She also explained about dimensions and that this world was not Pruna's world and she really had been kidnapped.

Pruna vowed to find a way home and she stuck with Adel for a while, Adel thought killing other things to eat was wrong, but didn't mind Pruna eating rats so she didn't starve. It was a strange alliship but the first Pruna had. When a feast in fantasy land was announced Pruna went off to find food and Adel was killed while she was away. They met after Arena six in the park. They exchanged names (Pruna said she could call her Ash) and Pruna asked if the grass in the Capitol was tasty.

Adel explained that andolite's did not have any sense of taste, Pruna decided that though swivel eyes would be useful having no taste was stupid. Adel explained about morphing and about DNA (though the latter confused Pruna). She didn't have a morphing abilities in the capitol but if she did she would be able to turn into things. Though so far she had only managed to morph into a djabala.

Asha Greyjoy (tribute- dead) A woman she met in arena six. She hadn't been to the capitol, having arrived right into the arena. Pruna taught her the little she knew about everything that was going on. Asha claimed she was going to win and Pruna was relieved she had finally found someone normal to talk to. She did say she didn't kill children and Pruna told her she had no such policies about adults, then ran away.

After the arena they met at Timeus' party. They talked about being dead and yet not dead and how when they killed people they should stay dead. Asha told her about her uncle and didn't seem to like him. Pruna had no idea what an uncle was but decided to avoid them. Pruna explained that everyone said they had to go and fight again and they couldn't leave. Asha suggested sailing home and Pruna explained about technology and other worlds.

They introduced each other and Pruna told her she could call her whatever she wanted but that she didn't like being called brat. She explained about Sandy's name for her but Ash was too close to Asha. They decided names didn't matter because no one had names when they were dead.

Bruce Banner (tribute) Helped Pruna run away during upside down fireworks in Arena six. He looked at her arm for her, and explained what had just happened and that fireworks were usually for entertainment (a fact Pruna found strange).

Bruce Wayne (tribute - dead) Stupid man who died for Tim in arena six.

Cassandra 'Sandy' Marko (tribute) Everyone deserves the right to live till they prove otherwise. The most important person in Pruna's Capitol life. Her friend and girlfriend and ally. The cause of much confusion and the best teacher about life a small assassin brat could have. Of course things didn't start out that way. They met in the training rooms where Sandy was practicing knots. She surprised Sandy by her derision of her own abilities and reiterated the point that Howard had started; people didn't chose to be here. Sandy explained that people liked to watch others suffer and didn't care about the weak. This confused Pruna because of course they didn't care. That was why weakness was stupid.

They argued about the capitol and being useful and Sandy screamed at Pruna. Pruna called her a stupid baby and told her cowards would die. Sandy claimed she hadn't done anything wrong and didn't deserve to die. Sandy told her that everyone deserved to live unless they lost that right by doing bad things. That if you hurt people you gave up your right to be happy. Pruna did not like that at all and the conversation ended there.

They next met up a tree in arena six. They egged each other on, trying to get to the top and the supplies there. Sandy told her that if there was only one thing up the tree Pruna could have it and Pruna told her she hadn't grown any brains since their last meeting. Sandy told her to do unto others as you would have done unto you and Pruna asked if she was only nice because she wanted people to be nice to her.

Sandy asked her if she knew what happened when they died, Pruna told her about reincarnation. She told her about reincarnated heroes and about Kant. Sandy told her that she had power and Pruna was shocked though less impressed when she learned that Sandy's power was turning to stone. Sandy told her about her dad and about those with powers got locked up. This confused Pruna. She asked if Sandy had rescued her dad and Sandy said she was working on it and that she was a coward. Pruna agreed. Then Sandy fell out of the tree.

When they returned to the Capitol Pruna was angry, Sandy found her and explained about televisions, the fact that they are always being watched and how that all works. They looked for hidden cameras with no success and beat up some furniture because they were angry. Somehow they bonded over this anger and decided they needed a plan. Sandy suggested the library and so off they went to read about the games and then Sandy took Pruna for ice cream.

This was probably the turning point in their friendship, Pruna loved ice cream and Sandy offered to help show her the cool things in the Capitol and Pruna offered to help her know how to survive in the arenas and an allegiance was born. Pruna was introduced to high fives and fist bumps and on learning she had no name Sandy christened her "Ashley", after a story about a boy whose friends and family were killed by demons who went on to kill all the demons with a blade that roared like a lion and a boom stick that could blow your head off. Pruna approved of the name.

Their allegiance continued, Sandy came back one night very late and they plotted in the bathroom with running water to confuse the cameras. They quizzed Prim on how Katniss had really won (because love was stupid). Sandy said that someone had been painting in the city and it would hopefully make people think. After learning about the mockingjay and agreeing to meet Prim the next day they discussed the possibility of Prim being a spy (very likely) and if they could feed her false information. Plotting done they went back to bed but not before Pruna scared the nightmares away from Sandy, something that would soon become a ritual.

Cinna (Stylist- ?) Her stylist. He is on Pruna's list of people who are perhaps not completely stupid. He is happy to answer her questions, including a lot of her first day questions about the world and everyone's part in it (and 'why don't the buildings fall down?). He taught her about technology and never made her feel stupid about knowing absolutely nothing.

Donatello Hamato (tribute) Not an alien, but a big turtle. He was a tribute too and was polite. He told her she was in the same district as Tony and Katniss and she would know Tony when she saw him because he was loud.

Draco Malfoy (tribute- dead) The second person Pruna killed in an arena. Katurian tried to save him. There was a fight and Malfoy finally died of bloodloss.

Ele (tribute - dead) Another grue. Pruna met her after arena six. She asked why Pruna spoke differently than the other humans, Pruna told her it was because the other humans were stupid and humans that weren't stupid spoke like her. Ele said all humans were the same and Pruna said they came from different worlds. Ele didn't know about different worlds and told Pruna she was talking nonsense when she tried to explain about stars.

Eliot Spencer (Mentor) They met when Eliot was still a tribute, in arena 6 at the first feast. Eliot rescued Pruna from mice, Pruna was surprised and told him to run away himself.

Eva Salazar (Mentor) She sponsored Pruna in arena six but they first met at Timeus' party after the arena. Eva was the first person who called her Pruna and though Pruna was confused she continued to, for ease of conversation. She called Pruna a warrior and told her she had won the games a long time ago when she was not much older than Pruna herself. Pruna recognised the name as the person who had sponsored her, she thanked her and apologised for not winning. Eva called her one of her favourites.

Eva explained that a long time ago people stayed dead when killed in the arena, Pruna thought that was better because then they couldn't be mad at you for killing them. Pruna decided Eva wasn't stupid and told her so. Eva told her that some people deserved to die.

Gavroche (tribute- dead) A boy she met in the capitol. He was nice enough though he pressed her for her name. She got annoyed at him and called him stupid. He thought that making them fight was brutal. They met after Arena six, he was in a stupid animal costume. He had lasted a good amount of time in the arena, he still didn't like killing people. She told him about parties and that there was more food than the queen had. He asked how the people stood for it and she explained about avoxes and how she thought they must have big secrets to have had their tongues cut out.

Howard Bassem (tribute- current whereabouts unknown) Howard was one of the very first people Pruna met in the Capitol and her opinion of him forever swings between useful ally and incredibly stupid. She first met him on her first day where he tried to convince her that walking round with no shoes would give her a disease. He was the first person to suggest that not all the tributes chose to be here and he gave her the nickname 'Moody Blues'.

In Arena six he boobytrapped the entirity of thunder mountain and she got caught in one of his traps. She told him she hadn't known the mountain was his and he asked if she were just going to rob someone else. He told her it was a non killing day and she told him it could be a non stealing day specially for him. He told her not to cut his rope and she explained that traps were stupid if people could just untie themselves. He told her that they weren't to trap people, just to slow them down and that he wouldn't know what to do with a trapped person.

He also explained about Disneyland. She told him he could kill the people he trapped- he reminded her it was a non killing day and she suggested keeping them in cages until a killing day. He called her sick and a little sociopath. She didn't know what that meant and he insulted her intelligence and asked if she could read. She proved she could by reading the note that had been in R's sponsor gift (Make it up to Howard). She learned that this was Howard and told him about R. Then he kicked her off his mountain.

After Arena six she found him and asked if he knew what ice cream was, she asked if he wanted to fight Maximus and then tried to steal his popcorn and swore at him. He found it amusing that she knew how to curse and taught her many more swearwords. He was a good teacher of swear words.

Hyperion Crius (Tribute- dead) They met in arena 6 at the first feast. She threatened him and he asked if she killed people often and how many she had killed. He said he was new and she called him slow. They parted. After the incident with the treehouse Pruna met him again, she had a broken ankle and was trying to escape. Hyperion attacked her and asked how she wanted to die. She told him she would fight him, they fought and she died.

Ian Chesterton (Tribute) Pruna met him in Arena six, he promised not to attack her if she didn't attack him. He also told her that his father had told him not to hit girls- which Pruna thought was a very stupid lesson and told him so. She spoke to him after the arena once she had learned her name. They spoke about one of the final fights and what they thought Wyatt would do. Ian suggested that Wyatt might not want to kill a woman, Pruna told him that he was the only one who thought stupid things like that. Ian then suggested they just didn't fight and Pruna thought that was stupid too.

Pruna said she didn't want Hyperion to win because she wanted to fight him and beat him, they spoke about who they thought would win the arena. He told her to be careful and not eat too much chocolate.

Initiate Fraysong (Tribute) Alien troll with cool horns, uses a lot of words that Pruna does not understand. They met and Pruna thought he was stupid at first, mostly because he pressed for a name, she told him to practice the language of silence. Calls her nameless sister.

After Pruna learned the name that the Capitol had given her he spoke to her, he explained they could not speak the language of silence so had just given her a name. He warned her to be careful and stay wary. She decided she liked him after all. He told her about his gods, they sounded interesting. He was a preacher and he knew magic and miracles.

Jane Shepard (Tribute) A cool woman who arrived after arena six. Pruna told her what was going on and gave her good advice. Shepard taught her that "go to hell" was something you could say about people you didn't like. Calls her 'kid'.

Jay Zimit (Tribute - dead) A drunk tribute she met in the middle of night in a park. He was sleeping in a bush. She lectured him on better awareness. She told him someone might rob him. He told her all the poor in the city were slaves and she said that she didn't think there was a rule that said slaves couldn't rob from other slaves. Jay said that it was strange that no one seemed bothered and Pruna explained that they wouldn't be if it didn't effect them.

Pruna claimed it wasn't too bad since they fed them well, Jay said that good food wasn't all that was needed for well being and that peace of mind was important too. Pruna asked what that was and he said it was not having to worry about anything important. Pruna said that the only people who didn't need to worry about anything were dead people.

Karkat Vantas (tribute - dead) Stupid smaller version of Signless who is not as cool and has stupider horns. They didn't get on at all but Karkat did teach her her first swearword. He calls her "doobie".

Katurian K. Katurian (Tribute- dead) Tried to save Malfoy when Pruna killed him. They fought. he injured her and Pruna finally ran away when she figured Malfoy would die just of bloodloss.

Lady (tribute - dead) They met in a park when Pruna was practicing climbing trees. Lady had never climbed a tree before and so Pruna showed her how. She was a good climber, for an adult.

Marius Pontmercy (tribute) A tribute who Pruna met when he bumped into her and spilled wine on her. She shouted at him and told him that if he had done that to one of the capitolites they would have been really mad. He was shocked when he learned she was a tribute and that he would have to fight her. She told him monsters might eat him first. He couldn't fight and she told him he was stupid if he as going to not want to hurt people. He was shocked that she could kill and told her that cowards were those who chose to follow cruel orders. She argued that cowards were the people who didn't chose, who didn't make hard choices. In the end he told her she didn't know what she was talking about.

Momoko Ryugasaki (victor, mentor - avox?) Someone Pruna met on her first day in the Capitol, she had won an arena, something that impressed Pruna a lot. She told Pruna that it was important to be strong and smart if you were to win an arena. Momoko seemed surprised that Pruna was trained in how to kill and it made Pruna wonder how she had won with no training. Momoko told her she had won through strategy- something to remember.

They met at Timeus' party, Pruna showed her how she had gotten away with no shoes again and complained about her stupid dress that she couldn't move in. Momoko told her she could eat the food and introduced her to some nice things (melted chocolate!). She explained to her how you had to pretend in order for people to like you. She called her stupid for dying and told her she had to learn to speak properly because she was hard to understand. Pruna pointed out that their way of speaking was strange for her to understand but she managed so they could too.

She explained about allies and then told Pruna she had won her arena without killing anyone. Pruna was surprised by that. Momoko told her she could count on her help and Pruna promised to win so everyone knew what a good mentor Momoko was.

Peeta Mellark (mentor) A mentor from district twelve. He won the games with Katniss. He came from the real district twelve and likes the food in the Capitol. He introduced her to hot chocolate, which was amazing. Though she distrusted him for being a baker she decided she liked him and he wasn't stupid. She told him about her sister and how she would win if she was there.

Primrose Everdeen (visitor) Katniss' sister, they met at Timeus' party. Prim had came from the real district twelve to be near her sister. Pruna was half convinced she was a spy. When Sandy came in very late Prim joined them, she told them about the Mockingjay. She promised to show them a picture and they agreed to meet in the ice cream parlor the next day.

R (tribute - dead) Stupid zombie man. Pruna first met him in her first arena, where he tried to grab her and she hit him with her shoes. She managed to get away from him. Later in weak two they fight again (this time her shoes are loaded with rocks) and she steals his sponser gift.

Samus Aran (tribute - dead) A tribute Pruna met in the training centre. She was really rubbish at archery. She claimed she would be better if she had a good weapon but Pruna told her she could not chose weapons in the arena.

Sigma Klim (tribute) They first met at Timeus' party, he offered to help her when she tripped but she claimed she didn't need any help. She got annoyed at him asking for her name, he asked if her parents had not given her one and she told him she had no parents. She asked if he had killed anyone and he said just one, he didn't like killing.

Signless (tribute) Someone she met during upside down fireworks in arena six. He was unarmed and explained he was an alien, a troll. He could see in the dark, which Pruna also thought would be useful. He offered that they could stick together so one could keep watch. Pruna wondered why he expected her to trust him. He said he believed in treating people like he wanted to be treated (aliens are weird). He let her sleep longer and she told him if he got tired and eaten by monsters it was his own stupid fault. He fell out of a tree and landed on Pruna.

Some ovMennet (tribute - dead) He was not an alien. But a grue, Pruna met him at Timeus' boat party. Grues live under the ground and eat people, though Some claimed he wouldn't eat anyone in the Capitol. Pruna was fascinated by that. He came from a cave system called "All falls in" but had been in another city before the Capitol. The Grue language was very pretty but not possible to speak with a human mouth. The different mouths were for the gods and they spoke about their gods for a while. Some served a god of darkness too and this made Pruna like him even more. He said he couldn't serve his god here because he wasn't allowed, Pruna said that was blasphemy.

He said that if he told her how he served his god she would scream. She claimed she wouldn't but he changed the subject and told her that it was not blasphemy and his god would not be angry with her people. He explained that they were not her servants but her children and she was their mother, so she taught them and was not angry with them if they made mistakes. This was a totally alien concept to Pruna. He finally told her that he killed humans for his god but he liked humans and so found it sad even if it meant going hungry. Pruna offered to kill some for him, so he could eat.

He said no and asked if she liked killing, she told him she was good at it. He was only thirteen and told her he had been caught and his friends had stopped him from killing. Pruna thought that was stupid, Some asked if they could speak of other things and so the subject was changed.

Stephanie Brown (tribute - dead) Stupid girl who made far too much noise when Tim died.

Steve Rodgers (tribute) He offered to help her when she was hurt, she was deeply suspicious. He told her he had friends but that one wouldn't come to tomorrowland because he got big and scary and didn't like it. Pruna thought that big and scary would be useful. He gave her a lot of peaches and she really didn't know what to do with that but he insisted there was no catch. He was very strange.

Tim Drake (tribute - dead) He was in the tree in arena six and the platform broke sending him and Pruna down. She landed on him and the Signless landed on her. She broke her ankle, Tim got attacked by a snake and some fish and a man saved him. She saw him at a party and they spoke. He didn't recognise her but didn't realise she was a tribute either. He asked where her parents were and asked if they were dead, his parents were dead a few years ago (Pruna still at this point didn't understand how adults could have parents). She then tried to be polite and shook her hands (literally from side to side, Sandy wasn't very specific on that). He showed her how to actually shake hands and told her that she should do it when meeting people for the first time and settling a deal, because it made things important.

Timaeus Nadir (sponsor) He threw a party on a boat and also commissioned a drawing of Pruna as a sprite, she thought it was cool. He wasn't a sailor but he threw parties on ships to show them off so that rich people would buy them. Pruna wondered why she had been invited but realised that everything in the Capitol was about showing off. He explained about how he had to sell things and make everyone happy and feel important. Pruna thought it was a difficult job.

He also built ships, which sounded more fun. He asked what Pruna wanted to do as a job and she explained she already had one, he thought that she was young and explained he had not started working until he was eighteen, which seemed very old to Pruna. They got distracted by cheesecake and the announcement of fireworks, which Timeus promised were only going up. She found cover just in case he was lying.

Tohru Adachi (tribute - dead) She met Adachi at the beginning of the first arena, she threatened him to get past and he told her he didn't want to kill her. She thought that was stupid and told him so. He told her he was a detective, which was a bit like a guard and a warrior and protected people. Later on, in week two she tried to rob him, he woke up and she attacked him and killed him. He was the first person she killed in an arena. When she came back she saw him again when she was furious and she refused to talk to him because she "do no be talking to dead people."

She do be speaking in the dialect of her city, which I do be realising that it can be being a little annoying for some people.

Just let me know a list of your characters (and which game) so I know.

[In busy streets someone who wants to go unnoticed has two choices, to blend in with the crowd or to hide. The girl was too exhausted to keep up with the bustling of the busy city and so she hid. She didn't even have to try that hard, people rarely looked up and so she was sat balanced on a roof. The roofs here were all pointy unlike the flat ones at home, it made things harder. She was leaning against a chimney eating a plumb she had snatched from a shop earlier.]

History: World Nesir's world is as large as earth with cultures as vast and different as our own.

All living creatures in the world have power, power to be tapped into and used but for most of them it is locked away. They have no way to channel it. That is the difference between power and magic.

Life

In general it is assumed that everyone in the world is born good, if they grow up in a good family with strong values they will remain good and work for benefit of others.

So Nesir's life began, she wasn't called Nesir at the time. When she was ready to go out to the world she had to be untraceable. Humans are humans and make mistakes and mistakes were costly when made by a shadow servant. So her name would be given later, when it was her only name; traceable only to the person she was meant to be.

So in the afternoons the girls played in the city, they were friends with the street children and thieves. They were soon prized among the children as the two girls proved to be good thieves, quick and good at hiding. Such activities were permitted and encouraged by their guardians, after all they were useful skills.

By the time the girls were eleven they were sent on their first missions.

Nesir found the tasks given to her exciting, each one a little bit more risky, the fear of being caught igniting the adrenaline inside her. She didn't mind killing, after all it got her praise. She knew she was serving the shadow god and above all it was fun. She had spent her life learning how to and it was good to put those skills to good use.

All went well for almost a year, the two girls killing for their guardians, sometimes alone. Sometimes together. They were a good team. They tried to keep apart when they were in sight of their guardians, not wishing to be used against each other. It was a lesson Kant had taught them, and one they weren't good at for neither could stand by when the other was in trouble.

This was the point she first went to the games. The next part is her canon update.

Things went wrong though, Nesir never found out the whole of it. But somebody had managed to corrupt her sister. Began speaking to her of the light. Worse they had managed to convince her that the dark was wrong.

All Nesir knew was that her sister had begun to disobey, she was punished more often and sometimes she would curl up in the room they shared and just cry. Nesir didn't understand, her sisters disobedience frustrated her. Surely they were not babies anymore, they could follow orders. The tears just confused her.

Things came to a head one night when her sister confessed to her that she believed the Dark God to be wrong. Nesir was horrified but promised her sister never to tell anyone.

She never had to break it, for a few days later she was summoned by Tawin; one of the innkeepers. She never learned fully what happened but her sister had failed. Been deemed a failure and a danger to them all. Their guardians; worried that the taint had spread they ordered Nesir to kill her sister to prove her loyalty to the shadow god.

Of course Nesir did so; she loved her sister but obedience had been drilled into her and if her sister was truly a danger... She didn't expect the sadness though; unlike the satisfaction that usually came when she completed a mission she was hit with loss and grief.

Left to her own devices for a few days but barred from leaving the inn Nesir worried, had they decided she was to be killed as well? Did they not want her anymore? When she was finally summoned it was Elina she faced. The priestess informed her that she was being sent to a far off temple; a place where she would train to be a warrior like Kant. To serve a magic user when she became strong enough. There was a large faction of shadow servants there and they would continue Nesir's training.

It is just after that revelation that she is brought to the Capitol once again.

Presentation: Nesir knows that while she is outside of the inn she has to keep herself secret.

She speaks in the thick accent/dialect of her city which gets thicker if she is angry. She is very good at dismissing any questions about herself, her sister or their home life. She uses her smaller than average size and her young age to her advantage, as people don't suspect her.

Motivations: Her soul is pledged to the shadow god, the god of chaos and it is Nesir's biggest motivation. She attempts to spread chaos and darkness with everything she does, if it is a mission or robbing a market stall holder.

Underneath all the masks lies her true personality and truthfully it is a mix of all the facets she shows to others. She is truly passionate about the god of chaos and her work, she genuinely enjoys her reputation among the petty thieves of her city. She is a cheeky, somewhat angry child who would never dare back chat her guardians.

She loves her sister. Outside of the shadow god himself her sister is her biggest motivation. Her best friend, her rival for attention and jobs, her quieter, less confident but often braver sister. Though by the time they are eleven they try and pretend they are not so close, so that they cannot be used against each other they still care for each other dearly and Nesir will do anything for her. She is the only person Nesir actually cares for.

Nesir took longer than most to work out connections between people, growing up without a name she assumed they weren't important and so it wasn't until she was about seven that she started referring to or calling others by their names. She has very little ideas of family structure, only what she has observed. Though she has a group outside the inn she spends time with them she wouldn't call them friends, she won their respect and they are useful. Friends are a mostly alien concept and involves more trust than she can afford to give.

Nesir can enter a meditative state called the emptiness. This is normal in her world, and there is nothing magical about it. It is merely a mindset where you close yourself off from the world, helping you to fight, bare pain or think clearly. The way you reach it differs between people and says a lot about their personality. For Nesir she imagines a storm sucking everything into it and devouring it all. All the bad, the good, everything around her; every part of her life before it finally devours itself leaving Nesir in calmness.

She has been taught that showing fear or pain is weakness and weakness is not something she can afford either, she will hide most of what she feels and though she has a very shaky grasp on the emptiness still she hides in it whenever she is scared.

Nesir's beliefs are a little different to even others in the shadow. Though at this time they are not very well formed beliefs, the spark is there and it would not take much for her to think about it more.

Coming from a world where good and evil have lines and rules and are starkly contrasted to one another Nesir truly believes that they are merely two sides of the same coin. She was brought up evil yes, but she runs the streets with pick pockets who burned sacrifices to the gods of light.

Stealing was considered an evil action but if your motives were good then you could still be a follower of the light gods. Murder was a much bigger crime in the eyes of those gods yet she knows that those of the light kill, in self defence and to bring the world to light. She knows if she was ever caught she would be killed, even though she is a child.

But what does she fight for if not the defense of her, her sister and the others who serve darkness and to bring the shadow over the world. She hasn't met many people outside of her small part of the city but these are beliefs that will only grow as she meets more, especially more self proclaimed heroes and good people.

Because she has not been anywhere outside of her part of the city she knows very little of the world, she has had lessons in history, in the monsters of the world, in politics of major cities and geography but it is very disconnected from the life she knows. She is quick to dismiss anything she doesn't understand as stupid and not worth knowing about. This can make her come across as a little brat sometimes, and if you get that impression from her then you aren't completely wrong.

Pruna was at the games for over a year and obviously this has affected her personality and motivations a lot. Thrown into a world of people from all different worlds and times she soon found that a lot of the things she knew as facts were not so true after all.

She learned about the importance of allies, finding people who she could trust to watch her back, though she never fully trusted them. She also learned about friends. Sandy helped with that, a girl who began by disliking Pruna, then became her allie, her girlfriend and then finally her friend (yes in that order).

From Sandy Pruna learned a lot about being human, she learned what it was to care about someone else. She learned the importance of having fun and most importantly she learned that just because someone is not brave, strong and good at killing it does not mean they are worthless.

Pruna never stopped being a killer, if you are not someone she has a definite alliance with she will not hesitate to murder you in the arena. However for those small few that Pruna has decided are her friends; Sandy, Wyatt, Maximus, Howard (sometimes), the Initiate and Shepard she will protect with everything she has. She had proved it as well. She died protecting Wyatt (which was as much as a surprise to her as it was to everyone else) and again protecting Sandy (when she never returned).

Her general tolerance for people has grown as well. Outside the arena she is more likely to talk to you then punch you. She is willing to listen to differing opinions (though she still might dismiss them as stupid). She even has found a place for Duck, who despite being a mostly useless creature she cares for and she wishes to help him become stronger.

Another big development with Pruna was her sense of identity. Thanks to an offhanded comment by Howard and some explanation by Wesker and finally Sandy Pruna learned about human reproduction, and more importantly that she must have had parents once. It made her wonder who she was and why her parents had not wanted her (for she refused to believe her parents were stupid enough to die on her).

Due to her cannon update Nesir/Pruna has changed again. She is grieving her sister, whilst believing she did the right thing. She followed orders. Her life is simple, you are useful or you die and her sister had stopped being useful.

If her life were to continue in her world, with her going to the temple this grief and anger at what happened would manifest itself in bitterness and hate. She would struggle to fit in in the temple and it would take many years for her to find an equilibrium where she was satisfied with her life again. She would claim she was an only child (as Nesir she is) and never speak about her sister to anyone.

Going back into the games she will be angry and bitter but the memory of killing her sister will be joined with the memories of what she was before in the capitol. Of friends and eating ice cream. Of protecting those she cares about. Being more than just a killer and a tool for the shadow god. This will be a large part of her personality going onwards.

Thread: Here we go. also Here for a Pruna in game thread if you wish that

Prose: The girl was pulled into the room by her arm and practically thrown in front of the judges. A small slight girl with an angry frown stood glaring up at the judges.

She didn't understand what was going on, she had woken up on a stupid cold bed surrounded by stupid people with stupid hair. No one had told her anything important, not about where her sister was or why she was here.

Alright so they had told her that she was to be competing in some battle to the death. That enough told her a lot, they were agents of the shadow god, light followers would never sound so cheerful about murder.

It made her feel a bit better, because shadow god followers would have never taken her without Elina's permission. The priestess must have allowed them to, but why had she not briefed her and why couldn't she remember being brought here?

She wished she could have said goodbye to her sister, but for now she had to prove to these people what she could do. A test, and she would have to make her guardians proud. Kant would be disappointed in her if she didn't and priestess Elina would be furious. She held less fear that she would actually die, she figured she was pretty good at surviving and Elina wouldn't actually send her to her death. She hoped.

She looked around the room for what she had at her disposal. She wished she had the dagger Kant had given her. But there were daggers here, fighting daggers and so she went to take one. She showed off a few dagger techniques, stabbing thin air as she went through forms.

She glanced up, but those watching her looked bored, or were ignoring her completely. She looked around again, spotting what seemed like a straw dummy, she went over and for the first time spoke.

"When killing it do be important to be knowing where to be stabbing. Untrained people do be panicking and stabbing non fatal areas and getting their stu... selves killed."

She indicated on the dummy. "It do be important to know what does be protected. The lungs and heart do be protected by the ribs and so you must be stabbing in the correct direction.

It do be easier to be stabbing at the stomach, as that will be killing, but will be slower and therefore more dangerous. Of course if you can be approaching unseen then the throat do be the best target..." She gestured with the dagger as she spoke, pointing to what she was talking about.

She still didn't like that she had been brought here without being told anything, but if she was to be tested then they were going to know that she wasn't stupid. She would make her guardians proud.

What is your character scored: She was scored a 7 last time she was in and skill wise she has not changed all that much bar that she has five arenas behind her now.

I'm not sure if you wanted qualification but I'm going to explain just since she's an OC and you only have what I have written to go from you can check my reasoning and if there are problems we can discus it easier.

So her biggest weakness is she is a 11 year old smaller than average girl with no magical or supernatural powers at all. Which is the thing that sets her back. Also she grew up in a city and sucks at wilderness survival.

Her greatest strength in this regard is the fact that she has been trained all her life to be a killer, she will have no ethical or moral issues in a fight to the death. Even in her first games before she learns death is not permanent. She can use a knife pretty well, she is quick and agile. She is intelligent, and not very much like a child at all.

She also is very good at self preservation, doesn't think of things like putting others lives before hers and the fact that people will like her and praise her if she kills the others will just make her try harder.

As for crowd appreciation, I am sure that the Capitol citizens will adore the ruthless kid once she practices her adorable smile.
