[In busy streets someone who wants to go unnoticed has two choices, to blend in with the crowd or to hide. The girl was too exhausted to keep up with the bustling of the busy city and so she hid. She didn't even have to try that hard, people rarely looked up and so she was sat balanced on a roof. The roofs here were all pointy unlike the flat ones at home, it made things harder. She was leaning against a chimney eating a plumb she had snatched from a shop earlier.]

"Oh, but they like making friends with everyone."

"They do be sounding stupid." She didn't hand the paper back though, she had never seen anyone make things look so real by drawing before.

"It's called being nice," she teased.

She frowned, it was still stupid. "Why did you be drawing this?"

Becca recognised the girl's suspicion. It reminded her, in all sorts of painful ways, of herself. Knowing that much, she knew the 'right' answer to give, or at least what she hoped was right.

"Because I like drawing all sorts of different people, and since I drew you, it's only fair I give it to you now I'm done with it."

The girl looked at her suspiciously before nodding once. Then she reached into the pocket of her dress and pulled out a smushed cake, she crept along the roof to half the distance between her and the woman and put it down before retreating.

"I did be getting two."

"That's very kind of you, thank you," she said cheerily, taking the cake and tucking it into her bag. "You know...if you're ever hungry, I have work that an extra pair of hands would be worth feeding to me. So just get in touch if you want honest work, okay?"

"What kind of work do you be meaning?" The girl asked still suspicious, but stealing only got her so far and it would be stupid not to look at less dangerous methods of gaining food.

[pencilpremonition]

"Cleaning, mostly. Sometimes running errands. Nothing I wouldn't do myself, but it's nice to not have to do everything, isn't it?"

[knifewithnoname]

It was lazy, but the girl kept her sneer mostly to herself. Cleaning was boring but not hard, errands were... well they could be exciting...

"And you would be giving me food?"

[pencilpremonition]

"I would," she promised. "Do you like fish? I have two little fishes I need to cook tonight. I could either smoke one of them to have for later, or I could feed a little helper..."

The little girl did like fish but the suspicion was still on her face.

"What do you be wanting me to be doing?"

[pencilpremonition]

"Well, I have three posters and one framed piece of art that all need delivered, and each one goes to a different corner of town. Think you could get them where they belong while I make dinner?"

[knifewithnoname]

That didn't sound too hard at all and the little girl nodded with a grin. "I can be, though you better be keeping to your end of the bargain. One whole fish."

"A whole fish. Do you like spicy food?" she asked, smiling brightly.

[knifewithnoname]

The little girl pulled a face, but spicy food was better than no food at all... "I do be liking sweet food better."

[pencilpremonition]

"Well, fish isn't very good when it's sweet, and too much sweet food can make you sick. But I can make it not spicy," she offered.

[knifewithnoname]

"What do you be talking about, sweet fish to be the best." She looked at the woman in confusion, "I have no been being ever sick from sweet food."

[pencilpremonition]

"Sweet fish?" she asked, wrinkling her nose. "I've never made fish sweet before, I'd have to look up a recipe."

[knifewithnoname]

"You do be making it with honey." She told her, "It do no be hard."

[pencilpremonition]

"Honey...see, I'll have to try that, now," she said with a grin.

[knifewithnoname]

"You will be, it do be nice." The girl grinned, "So where do I be getting these pictures from?"

[pencilpremonition]

"My studio, same place you'll be getting this fish from," she said with a grin, packing her notebook up before moving to carefully go in one of the open windows nearby. "This place. C'mon in," she said from inside.

The girl frowned and crept after her through the window, not going too far in, ready to dart out again if it turned out to be a trap.

Becca went over and picked up three tubes and a pencil, scribbling the addresses on each of them. Then she picked up a large but light-weight package, which was already addressed, and took them over to her new assistant. "You'd better leave through the door with these, but this is a safe building, you won't have trouble."
